Clarity and space to explore. The MicroFields Line Isolator/Direct Box is at home on stage or in studio, giving musicians, sounds techs, and creatives a reliable interface to express themselves. We've carefully chosen every part of this tool to produce a pure representation of the sound that you've worked hard to create.

Made with musicians in mind where pedal board space is at a premium, the MICROfields ISO.DI is suitable for all instruments, both electronic and acoustic.

If directly connecting a high-impedance instrument, like a passive bass guitar or an electric guitar, we recommending using the DYNAMICfields Active DI or the MICROfields PRO DI (coming soon).

Bear in mind that using an instrument with active circuitry, or even a single powered pedal between the instrument and the DI/ISO adds a buffer, effectively lowering the impedance to zero. Our line isolator (ISO) is at home at the end of any pedal chain, even if it starts with a passive instrument.

For Guitar Rigs

If you're using any sort of DSP effects or amp/cab sims or IR loaders like the Strymon Iridium or the iK Multimedia Tonex or TonexOne, Universal Audio UA Ruby '63, Dream '65, Lion '68, or Woodrow '55, or multi-effects all-in-one units like the Line 6 HX Stomp, HX One, POD Go, POD Express, Hotone Ampero 2, Ampero Stage, etc., in any sort of live or stage setup, you shouldn't be using a Direct Box, which will remove some of the clarity of your tone as well as reduce volume.

Amp/Cap/IR simulators like these (or anything else that doesn't have an XLR out), will suffer from using a standard Direct Box, and more still by running a 1/4" patch cable to the snake or sound board. And these devices with the lack of a ground lift means you'll have to live with any hum or noise that plagues your signal.

A line isolator like the MICROfields with proper input impedance passes your signal in all of its glory straight to the front of house console. It offers a ground lift to reduce unwanted noise, and a pad switch to attenuate high-volume outputs without causing the tone to suffer.

For Percussion Pads

For digital percussion pads like the Roland SPD, SPD SX, the ddrum NIO, Yamaha DTX-Multi12, and many others will also suffer from the use of a standard Direct Box. The MICROfields ISO shines in situations like these where the device often doesn't quite have enough output gain when using a standard DI, thereby necessitating the mixer or input device having to crank up the input gain, and sometimes adding hiss or noise to your signal.

For Pedal Chains

Even if you're not using an effects processor and are coming directly off the end of a pedal chain and running direct into a front-of-house mixer, the MICROfields is still the perfect choice. It was made to integrate with all major pedal brands and effects processors, allowing you to express yourself the way you want.

Why trust whatever the house has (or doesn't have) on hand? The MICROfields offers consistent tone clarity and build quality in a small, eye-catching package.
